What level of care is offered?

There will be a care certified "house mom" at the house at all times to help supervise residents and hold group sessions. However, higher treatment will be available through local partners with intensive outpatient services if needed.

What do I bring?

Bring essentials such as clothes, prescribed medications, and personal hygiene materials. All cooking utensils, beds, nightstands, and new sheets will be provided for you.

How much space will I have?

Bedrooms will be set up so that you are not alone and will have a supportive companion. A dresser will be provided, and you will have a shared closet space. Bedrooms will accomodate space anywhere from 2-4 people at a time. 

What shouldn't I bring

  • Alcohol, illegal substances including paraphernalia, and non-prescription medications such as but not limited to laxatives, diuretics, and dieting pills. Other OTC medications must be approved by health consultant and "house mom."
  • Excessive clothing (storage is limited)
  • Expensive or sentimental possessions (Cairns Transitional Living is not responsible for any lost or stolen items)
